EST 1200. Hiura Farms is a 27th generation farm that has been growing rice and cucumbers in Motomachi (Yoshida, Tsubame) for over 800 years. The farm is a family business devoted to "consumers, the environment, and the next generation." A pesticide-free and non-chemical fertilizer rice grower since 2000, they weed their fields by hand to keep a close eye on the rice, grass, and creatures living in the paddies.
